And Then...

You wake up, the sun is blazing, you go for your 8th jog in the last 6 days, you shower in soft, lukewarm water, your clothes are loose because you've lost 5 pounds in the last week, you ride to work with your perfect Lil Sis in your perfectly gorgeous convertible with the wind whipping your curls against your cheeks, your favourite co-worker buys you breakfast, and the first e-mail you open is one from a promoter who tells you that you've just won a free dinner for two.

And you recognize, that everything you could ever want is right at your fingertips, and life is beautiful.

**Controversy week resumes tomorrow.

This brings to mind the words of the great philosopher himself, Ice Cube …

Today was like one of those fly dreams
Didn't even see a berry flashin those high beams
No helicopter looking for a murder
Two in the mornin got the Fatburger
Even saw the lights of the Goodyear Blimp
And it read, "Ice Cube's a pimp" (yeah)
Drunk as hell but no throwin up
Half way home and my pager still blowin up
Today I didn't even have to use my A.K.
I got to say it was a good day (shit!)

Cookie - I have been reading your blog now for a yr. I can relate to you on a lot of levels and when you met CF I was really really happy for you (and jealous you had found someone). When I read your break up post my heart sank. Shed a tear as well b/c I know how that feels. THEN I read the Censor-shitpost my heart sank again. I have been there.
All in all I want to tell you that you have a supporter and as hard as it may be the sun is shining again, you will take a breath and appreciate what happened b/c something else is out there and it's a million times better than what you have had in the past.

Ornac, what's funnier still is picturing you rapping...

O-face, you're right. Controversy week can't resume on a Friday. I have some other ideas already brewing...

Anon, I appreciate the sentiments! It warms my heart to know that what I have to say, and how I say it, can reach people beyond my network of friends.

Oh, and I should also add, that whatever has conspired over the last week, emotionally frustrating or otherwise, I stand firm to what I wrote in the "I have loved a gentleman" post. Best of luck, mi amor.

I'm jealous your curls still look good after a convertible. That would equal instant pony tail for me.

It's a swell picture Cookie, and I hope the mood remains upbeat. Me, I got a flashback from Namaste's remarks. There you all are. In the same convertible, but Leon Redbone is in the back singing 'Shine on harvest moon.' Yes, your folks would appreciate that one. Cheers & Good Luck! 'VJ'
