Quick, Before You Get Married

I heard an interesting statistic on my morning radio show: Men, before they get married, will kiss an average of 24 women, and women, before they get married, will kiss an average of 17 men.

Who in god's name keeps track of these things? And 17 men? I had probably smooched 17 men before I even got to college. Did these poor women not play spin the bottle or 7 minutes in the closet as kids?

Seriously. 17? That's like, three months worth of kissed men.

You have to factor in all those people who married a high school sweetheart, or dated someone throughout college and married them.

Or, possibly, the "kissed" number was actually used as a proxy for "carnal knowledge"? ;)

I think I've only ever kissed...25-30 men in my life...does that make me a prude? ;)

Besides, what you talkin about numbers for?>

As I read and cringe. I shutter to think, because I always wanna believe i'm the first and last. But reading the comments and post makes me wanna wear penicillan on my lips the next time I kiss a girl. This is eye opening.

I used to wonder why oral herpes is considered the 2nd most transferrable disease and now I have my answer.

Cooks, the scary part about this is that for every person who kissed something like 5 people, there was someone kissing WAY more than the average that balances it out.

I am by no means a prude, and I'd say, counting middle schoool, my number is around 10-15. (and I'm 27 now)

    O-My-Gawd.
I could dwell on how this makes me look, but I'd rather turn it around: This might explain all those BAD kissers we all run into...

I like Roar's idea. You have to go through the bad to get to the good...

Some of us have a) many long relationships and b) not as many people interested in kissing us. ;)

The figures don't disturb me as much as the fact that someone is out there calculating this nonsense.

those are startlingly low. i have a friend who calls me daily, and i'd say she posts numbers of at least 2 new guys kissed per week. she's a make out queen.

Even I beat those stats and I led a pretty sheltered life!

Rebecca Knox - so do I! That's how I know I've only kissed 25-30 or so...that's anybody I've kissed once to people I have slept with. Haha we're really cool. But, at least I can say I don't really make out with random guys at bars...

PS - for the record my "sex number" is nowhere near 25...not that it's anyone's business, but just wanted to clarify. Thanks. :)

Keep in mind that in middle america, the average age for marriage is close to 22.

Clearly I'm low on the kissing pole.

I'll talk to Knox about this offline. ;)

17? In a lifetime? Heysoos. I kissed like 17 last month alone.

Of course I'm exagerating, I am not a kissing ho. Except for maybe a little bit.
