Public Service Announcement

Speaking of scents, can someone please tell me why there has not been a protest to remove Drakkar Noir from the market? I just took a 10 minute cab ride in a taxi that absolutely reeked (I'm talking, smelled like the entire bottle had been poured onto the velour seats) of the liquid, rancid musk. I had to open the window because I thought I might vomit.

The raw sewage wafting into the air from the recycling plant on the corner of South Eads and South Glebe smells better than the stench of Drakkar Noir. If you own the black bottle that attempts to pass itself off as cologne, and you're considering whether or not to spray it on one night, DON'T! That's all I have to say about that.

I used to wear that - I even still have some. I stopped when a girlfriend openly mocked me for it. I still like the smell.

What kills me is not only do they still sell that but you can actually buy it in reasonably decent scent stores like Sephora. That is where the battle begins. You may never get it out of Target, but we shouldn't have to see it in Sephora.

I can't help but think of what might have smelled worse in that cab that required that driver to douse himself in that shit? I shudder at the thought.

What About Coolwater? Is that still acceptable?

I'm a perfume/cologne snob, so it's not a scent I'd purchase for the man in my life. But the way I see it, as long as it smells good, it passes. CF wears it from time to time, and he smells divine when he does.

Curve is another one of those delicious drug store brands that men can still pull off.

Ditto for Old Spice--I thought my grandfather was wearing so much of it because he was in his late 80's and hard of smelling. . .but then I moved here, and constantly find myself wedged between guys in their twenties who've bathed in it. Shudder.

I used to hate Drakkar, but then I met my husband. He wears it and for some reason, on him, it smells yummy. Must be something to do with his body chemistry.

Makes you wonder what sort of testing they did before marketing that to the public!

Shame on you Jordan! That is a classic gentleman scent!

I suppose next your going to tell me Aqua-velva, or Chaps is out of date, too!

Drakkar is lamer than Rumors. Real men wear Creed, or have Creed make them a blend.
