Holiday Shopping

In his most recent humourous anecdote, Mink pretty much hits the nail on the head here when he writes, "Christmas brings along it’s share of dilemmas – chief among them for many of us youngsters is just what to give to that girl/guy (or girls/guys) you’ve been seeing for a few weeks. Sure, you’ve been spending a lot of time together, have had a few sleepovers (without getting much sleep), and it’s obvious you dig each other. But, it’s still in that nebulous, ambiguous pseudo-relationship stage. Normally this is a pretty cool phase, but during the holidays it sets up a scenario rife with danger." Read further, it will crack you up.

Thankfully, I'm blessed with the good sense to know what is 'within reason' at this point in time. Regardless, I'm struggling for ideas. At the moment I have two possible options, neither of which I'm particularly excited about, and I won't have much opportunity to browse the stores and brainstorm. So I ask, what the heck do you get the new man in your life who freakin' HAS EVERYTHING?

Help me out here people...

Nothing says "I like having sex with you but haven't decided yet if I want to have your children," more than a can of Spam.

Just refer to the 12 Days of Playaz Christmas for ideas.

    A Kangol would be nice.

Lingerie. For you. Meow! He surely doesn't have that. Something you can both enjoy.

Or shoes. For you. Sexy ones. The gift that keeps on giving, right Wiz?

While I like all of these fantabulous ideas...especially linz & Namaste's...how about tickets to a show. Like a 9:30 show, nothing outrageous. But then, yay, he gets to spend more time with you!

My mom always told me to take a new interest a plate of homemade christmas cookies--sugar cookies I decorate myself. It shows care without commitment.

Too bad I've never actually made cookies by myself. But, you're probably less domestically challenged than I.

Definitely something that does not last forever that he will have to either look at the rest of his life (even if you are not in it) or will have to choose to eventually throw away.

Go for things that are expendable and do not come with a long term commitment. Cookies are a great gift idea or wine, chocolates, a meal, time, event or liquor. IF you enjoy them together AND you end spending the rest of your life with him, it will always be a nice memory. If the relationship ends much sooner than death, then no long term issues are attached to the gift.

hope this helps!! Sorry So Long ; )

HAHA - I like the 'buy something for yourself' line of thinking... I have TONS of ideas there.

I liked the gift certificate idea and Marci's idea to get him tickets to a show. Both offer great date options.

Or you know, alcohol. Because alcohol is the gift that keeps on giving.

Yes, what Heather B. and Caasmom said: booze, or cigars if he likes them. The cookie idea is good too.

DO NOT get him a "his and hers" toothbrush holder for his bathroom.

As heard on Monty Python: "Run away, run away..."

If all else fails, Spam. Jinxy is a genius.

I would agree on the make sure the gift isn't hanging around idea: wine, etc., but you also might find some silly thing at Archie McPhee: hhttp://www.mcphee.com/.

I agree with the gals who've suggested "date night" activites... tickets to a show, a restaurant gift certificate, etc. I'm very into event gifts, cuz you get to spend some quality time together, you benefit too, and nothing is left hanging around just in case. Plus it could be a good excuse to dress up and play grownup. :-)

I agree with a nice bottle of whatever he loves to drink. Maybe even an indulging treatment at The Grooming Salon in Georgetown. Good luck, though! Anything you get him he will enjoy.
