Favourite Picture

Ever have one of those pictures that is taken at such a horrible angle that you can't help but laugh out loud every time you see it? I'm talking, spit-your-water-out-guffaw. This picture is infamous in my circle of friends. I call it: "K and her 300 pound sister." I think we laughed for days when this roll was developed (yes, long before digital cameras were the norm).

Kristy and 300 pound sister

What did I 'actually' look like that night? A little bit more like this (sleepy and snookered, and yes that IS an entire bottle of champagne in my hand, but certainly not 300 pounds).

4 years later and I'm still laughing...

what's up with this "straight hair" phenomenon? I'm not even sure that's you.

Thank god you didn't get that on your driver's license. No one would believe it was you.

I've never met you, but I've seen plenty of photos, and neither one of those shots look like you. Thank God digital photography has evolved, eh?

The bad angle phenomenon – Crazy photography angles that can make the most attractive women morph into creatures of the unknown. Most commonly occurs when alcohol is involved. This is because the photographer is usually blitzed and clicking at any ol’ thing. Additionally, the one photographed usually has a reaction time snafu, after drinking...Hence, the “candid shots” are taken with their facial contortions a little more skewed than usual.// I have looked like a victim of a horror show on many occasions.

Additionally, I get teased for my "Miss Texas" pose. Entirely too many yrs. of posing for dance class in childhood have evolved into a subconscious drunk pose. I automatically tilt head, hand on hip, shoulders back, hip out, and megawatt smile. I've tempered it, but when I’m tipsy the "Miss Texas" (as coined by a girlfriend) can still come out. I have another classic drinking photo pose. I open my eyes insanely wide, to prevent blinking. ..And I’ll tilt my head back. This is not a good idea, because it produces an effect that is commonly found in black & white horror movies. You know, when the crazed killer opens their eyes really really wide…right before they are about to kill their victim. As an added bonus, the overly titled head back...gives the beloved “nostrils photo op”…always a beauty.

You have a great jaw definition…so obviously you were a victim of the bad angle phenomenon & the chin roll gremlin ( sneaks up on the skinniest of girls–I have a cherished few of myself like this. I have no idea where they come from, but sometimes they appear in photos. I blame the chin-roll gremlin.)

The straight hair is not a good fit. But then I have no hair, so there you have it.

If I posted a different picture of me with straight hair, you might disagree. It's sexy. However, my natural hair suits my personality much better, so the straight hair only comes out on very special occasions.
